PPSMI is only one of many failed policies….

What a mess!

I understand Mahathir’s rationale re: PPSMI. English is the language for science and technology bla bla bla. Sounds reasonable. What I don’t understand is the implementation? Why was it implemented so hastily? Now, when they found that the outcomes are not as expected, they simply reverse the policy! More like trial and error, I say! When these trial and error policies gone wrong, the Rakyat lah who suffer! In this particular matter (PPSMI), our school children, our future. Mahathir and Najib won’t be affected. They send their kids overseas! They could not care less. Trial and error here and there, no matter what…what sort of mentality is this? When the policy turns out okay, they are the heroes. But, when it turns out otherwise, they blame one another bla bla bla like what Mahathir is doing, while billions of tax payers' money is wasted…maybe this blaming exercise is to cover for the money lost, or perhaps, the Rakyat’s anger . I dont know..huh!

Oh and this PPSMI is only one of many. How about Cyberjaya, Bakun, Jambatan Bengkok, Sepang Gold Coast? Not to mention all the Koridors! And Wilayah Pembangunan Iskandar??? Come on lah, tell me these projects were based on substantial researches, not some dodgy experiments based on wishful thinking. Seriously! I demand for facts and evidences. Please, be transparent, sikit pun jadi lah!!!

Malaysian Politics: How to look good and credible?

I have been observing our political culture for a while now. It’s pathetic to say the least.

To look good, one just need to make the other looks bad. It’s as simple as that. You don’t need genuine thoughts or ideas to project good image. No wonder personalities like Khir Toyo, Nazri, Mat Sabu, Bung Mokhtar are very popular. Modus operandi: badmouth others to look good. Paradoxical? Well, that’s the story of Malaysian politics.

It gets more disappointing. Leaders who are supposed to be intellectuals are no different. Just look at Perak. Zambry vs Nizar. One has the title Dr. with pHD plus multiple masters degrees while the other is an Ir., a professional engineer or something like that. Yet, both behaving like kindergarten kids!! Trying to look sophisticated putting words like integrity, credibility, value, KPIs in their speeches. Enough la, who are they trying to fool? Look inside the mirror. You, Zambry & Nizar, are the bloody fools!

What sort of leadership/ principles/example are these people trying to demonstrate (to the society)? If this culture is to continue, I believe we are heading towards cataclysmic doom. I am starting to believe that the root of our social ills is our leaders. Snatch thieves, mat rempit gangsterism, bullies, mengumpat2 etc. are mere reflections of our political leadership….
